7. Withdrawal from case

The 2 ways of withdrawing from a case:

1) Written consen of his client; or

2) By citing grounds for allowing withdrawal with court permission.

An attorney may only retire from the case either by a written consent of his client or by citing grounds for allowing withdrawal with the permission of the court after due notice and hearing. In either case, the attorney should see to it that the name of the new attorney is recorded in the case. (Venterez v. Cosme, A.C. No. 7421, 10 October 2007)
